Whole Wheat Mawa Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- ¾ cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tbsp grated carrot
- ¼ cup raisins
- 2 tbsp wheat bran
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 4 tsp melted butter
- ¾ cup milk
- 5 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- ½ tsp fruit salt
- for the topping
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions

Combine the wheat flour, wheat bran, raisin, carrots and baking powder in a deep bowl, mix well and keep aside.

Combine the butter, milk, honey and vanilla essence in another deep bowl and mix well.

Add the flour mixture and mix well using a wooden spoon or spatula.

Add the fruit salt and mix gently.

Place 11 paper cups in 11 muffin moulds of a muffin tray.

Drop 1½ spoonfuls of the batter into each muffin moulds.

Sprinkle a little of brown sugar on top and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°c for 10 to 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in a muffin comes out clean.

Cool slightly and serve.
