Paneer Matar Tikki

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp oil

For the stuffing

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp ginger chopped
  • 2 green chilies chopped
  • 1/4 tsp asafetida
  • 1/2 cup semi boiled fresh green peas, slightly crushed
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp cashews chopped
  • 1 tsp raisins chopped

For the outer covering

  • 1 cup paneer
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 3 tbsp corn flour mixed with 3 tbsp of water
  • 1/4 cup cornflakes crushed

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan add cumin seeds, ginger, green chillies, asafetida, green peas and mix well.
  2. Add rest of the ingredients for stuffing and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from flame and keep aside.
  4. Mix all the ingredients for the covering except flour and flakes and knead.
  5. Pinch small balls of the dough and shape them into thin base.
  6. Add mixture in between and roll into a tikki shape.
  7. Dip the tikkis in the flour slurry then roll in the flakes.
  8. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the tikkis till golden brown on both the sides.
