Matar Paneer
Ingredients
- 250 grams paneer
- 200 grams fresh peas tender
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 onions sliced
- 1- inch piece ginger roughly chopped
- 4 cloves garlic roughly chopped
- 100 ml tomato puree
- 1 teaspoon whole jeera
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 2 teaspoon dhania powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- salt to taste
- 2 tablespoon fresh coriander finely chopped for garnish
Instructions

Heat oil in a pan and fry onions, ginger and garlic.

Once they are soft and golden-brown grind to a paste.

Heat oil in a pan, add jeera when it splutters add the onion ginger garlic paste. Sauté for a few minutes, add tomato puree and cook till oil separates.

Add the salt, dry spices and sauté briefly, and then add the peas.

Stir fry for 2 minutes until brightly coloured.

Add about 1/2 cup water and stir continuously until gravy begins to thicken.

Add the paneer and cook on simmer, covered, for 5 minutes

Add more water as required.

Taste and adjust seasoning.

Garnish with chopped coriander.
