Onion Nimki is the best snack to munch on during a movie marathon, with a cup of tea in the evening, any time of the day or even as a midnight snack. It’s easy to make and healthy to eat! Treat your taste buds with this flavoursome surprise!

Crunchy Onion Nimki

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup powdered oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp kalonji seeds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp oil
  • whole wheat flour for rolling

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a semi-stiff dough using 3 to 4 tbsp water.
  2. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions.
  3. Roll out each portion into a thin round circle of 150 mm. (6”) diameter using a little whole wheat flour for rolling.
  4. Cut each circle into 8 equal size long strips and keep aside.
  5. Heat a non-stick tava and cook the strips a few at a time while pressing them using a cloth till they turn crisp and golden brown on both the sides.
  6. Cool completely and serve or store in an air-tight container.
