Awadhi Paneer Tikki

Ingredients

  • 100 gms paneer grated
  • 2 raw bananas
  • 1/2 cup peas boiled
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp onion chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp chat masala
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp coriander chopped
  • 1 tbsp gram flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Peal and pressure cook the bananas for 4 whistles, or until soft.
  2. Once the pressure cools, mash the bananas and peas with a masher or back of your spoon.
  3. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  4. Add onions and chillies and sauté till they get soft and translucent.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw aroma fades.
  6. Add the spices, chat masala, salt, flour and fry for 1 minute.
  7. Add 2 tbsp water and let the spices sizzle for a few seconds.
  8. Add the mashed bananas and peas and fry for another minute.
  9. Switch off the flame and keep aside.
  10. Once the mixture cools down add paneer and divide into 8 equal portions.
  11. Roll into balls, then with damp hands flatten them slightly and shape them into round patties.
  12. Heat the remaining oil on a pan and shallow-fry the tikkis until golden brown and crisp on both sides.
  13. Serve hot with green chutney.
